It's Time to Connect - One Medicine for Humans and Animals, by Joe Bailey - Chief Executive Officer of the Humanimal Trust
What is ‘One Medicine’? And how can embracing this concept ensure that humans and animals benefit from equal and sustainable medical progress?
Humanimal Trust, a charity founded by Professor Noel Fitzpatrick ten years ago advocates for a One Medicine approach, because all patients matter, regardless of species. It is time to connect, to bridge the divide between human and animal medicine, driving collaboration and the sharing of knowledge for the benefit of all. We want to save time, money and ultimately lives.
Joe is CEO of Humanimal Trust, and is intrinsically motivated to make a difference to the lives of all beings. After spending 25 years working in animal welfare she started looking at the correlation between animal welfare and human wellbeing and how the two are intrinsically linked. Joe is a mental health first-aider, on the board of One Welfare Phoenix, and a Trustee for My Black Dog.
