Mr Boileau will be fondly remembered by many former students. Drama and theatre productions had aways been an important part of life at the Latin, but Martin was the first to hold the role of Drama teacher at RLS, when the subject was formally added to the curriculum in the 1990s.

Before teaching at the RLS Martin had some talented teachers and drama tutors, including John Wright, which led to him working in drama and theatre in Germany; France and Italy. He co-founded the Common Eight Theatre Company in 1984 gaining a 'Pick of The Edinburgh Fringe' in The Observer. One of his proudest moments was RLS Drama winning a Buckingham Town Excellence in the Arts Award for a ten-year joint drama project with The Buckingham School.

Some of Martin's productions during his time at school included Our Country's Good (1995), The Tempest (1998), Guys and Dolls (2002), My Fair Lady (2009), As You Like It (2011), Grease (2015), The Crucible (2016) and Our House (2017 - his final production).

Since 2018, Martin has been artistic director of Now & Then Theatre, comprising of former RLS students, staff and parents. Their recent Tull 100 production won a prestigious national Big Ideas Medal.

We hope to see as many Old Latins as possible to return to school to hear Martin's reflections on his time at RLS.
