Emma Wise to speak at Archive Day - 6th May 2026

Emma attended the Royal Latin School from 1988 to 1994. After studying English Literature at university, she began her career in finance, joining KPMG as a tax trainee in 1997. Over the next twenty years, she advised businesses and their owners on share disposals, tax-efficient investments, and employee share ownership schemes.

A move to the Old Rectory in Quinton, Northamptonshire, and the creation of a very special garden became the catalyst for profound change. Aged 41, Emma left the corporate world to retrain as a holistic therapist. She now teaches meditation and breathwork and runs events and retreats from her garden and other venues. She also co-hosts a podcast on seasonal living and arranges courses and classes that explore wellbeing and connection with nature.

The Old Rectory garden has earned national recognition, winning Homes & Gardens’ 'Best Design' award in 2019 and being shortlisted for the Nation’s Favourite Garden in 2021. It has been featured in numerous publications both in the UK and overseas, as well as on BBC Gardener’s World and was included in Clive Nichols’ Brilliant English Gardens book. Since its completion in 2016, Emma has welcomed thousands of visitors into her garden. Her vision is for it to serve as a 'garden for good' — a space for sharing, fundraising, and community initiatives that inspire wellness and positive change.
